Hi, I’m Inga.

Founder of MyCalmHour spending a peaceful moment outdoors with her young daughter, promoting mindful living, emotional well-being and family connection.

And if you’ve found your way here, I have a feeling we might have something in common.

Maybe you’re someone who eats well during the day — and then falls apart in the evenings. Maybe you’ve started more diets than you can count, only to find yourself back at the kitchen cupboard at 9 PM, wondering what went wrong. Maybe you’re exhausted, a little hard on yourself, and quietly hoping that someone out there understands.

I do. Because I’ve been there too.

Why I created My Calm Hour

A few years ago, if someone had asked me what my biggest challenge with food was, I would have said one word: evenings.

Not breakfast. Not lunch. Not even healthy eating in general. It was always the evenings.

During the day, I could make good choices. I could stay motivated, feel proud of myself, and stick to my plan. But when evening arrived — after a long day of work, responsibilities, and taking care of everyone else — something shifted. I would finally sit down, feel the weight of the day settle in, and tell myself I deserved a little treat.

One treat became two. Two became the whole packet. And then came the guilt.

For a long time, I thought the problem was me. That I lacked willpower. That I just wasn’t disciplined enough. But the more I learned about emotional eating, the nervous system, and self-compassion, the more I realised something that changed everything:

“The problem wasn’t that I lacked discipline. The problem was that I was trying to solve emotional and nervous system needs with willpower alone.”

That’s not a food problem. That’s a feelings problem. And once I understood that, everything began to shift — slowly, gently, and without a single diet.

What My Calm Hour is

My Calm Hour is the place I wish had existed when I was in the middle of all of this.

It’s a digital magazine and resource hub for women who are tired of fighting their own bodies. A quiet corner of the internet where you can read honest, compassionate articles about emotional eating, self-care, journaling, and building gentle habits. Where you can find free tools to help you understand yourself better. And where you’ll never be made to feel broken, weak, or like you just need to “try harder.”

Here, you’ll find:

•Articles that go deeper than “5 tips for self-care” — honest, research-backed writing on emotional eating, evening cravings, nervous system regulation, mindset, and more

•Free resources — worksheets, checklists, and journal prompts to help you explore what’s really going on beneath the surface

•Digital workbooks designed to guide you gently through real change — available in the shop

My Calm Hour isn’t about fixing you. You are not broken.

It’s about understanding yourself. Being curious instead of critical. And finding a gentler way forward — one calm hour at a time.

A note from me to you

If you’re reading this and thinking “this sounds like me” — welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.

You don’t need to overhaul your life. You don’t need to be perfect. You just need a place to begin, and someone who gets it.

That’s what this is.

With warmth,

Inga
